Nigerian-born Makinde Adeagbo, an ex-Facebook software engineer has been featured in a short film about what most schools don’t teach: Code.
The 6-minute short film also starring Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey, among others expresses the desire to learn about a new “superpower” that isn’t being taught in most schools around the world, especially in U.S schools.
All of these creators believe that “every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn to code”, and want you to support Code.org, a non-profit foundation dedicated to growing computer programming education.
“A lot of the coding that people do is fairly simple”, says Makinde Adeagbo in the short clip.
Makinde is famous for being part of the team that reduced Facebook’s over 1 MB of Javascript to only 2 KB and previously worked at various parts of the Facebook stack on projects including search, new user orientation, photos, performance, events, and client software.
