Is Schooling Really A Game?

You must accept the fact that school is a game, but it’s a very important game: Whenever school is seen as a game, it produces a relaxed mindset knowing you are free from vulnerability. The word game suggests freedom from responsibility. It implies a spirit of sportsmanship, which implies exciting race running and risk taking (within boundaries that are quite safe).

As a result, they believe that to perform optimally, they need to create a state of mind that is associated with effortlessness, relation, calmness, and pleasure rather than popular striving and struggling pushing and punishing themselves, fighting with themselves, self depriving and driving themselves which is erroneously called self-discipline.

But any science of self-discipline must tell you how to do things you want to do, the things that are hard for you to do and still make you feel relaxed, calm, happy and confident. To a non-optimum learner this sounds like a tall order.

The Game attitude produces a mindset that is:

  1. Risk running: In this case, fear of failure is absent. You consider loosing as an inconsequential since if you lose, you still see it as just as a game
  2. Record breaking: This mental attitude causes you to think bigger, reach farther, try harder, than you ever have before.
  3. Freedom form commitment: Since it is only a game, you can quit any time you want and not ruin your reputation. You are free from the sub-conscious tension generated by the fear of involvement where you suspect you might get trapped by ongoing responsibility.
