Week 1 – Action of Running Water

Overview – Running water refers to flowing water that moves over a land surface from its source. It is an agent of the process of denudation. Denudation refers to processes such as erosion, leaching, etc. that cause the wearing away of landmass. Overview – The word “wind” is a term for air in motion. It is caused by the sun’s uneven heating of the Earth. The action of the wind is dominant in deserts and other semi-arid regions of the world. Overview – The word climate refers to the average weather condition of a place over a long period of time of about 30 years. It varies from place to place. Knowledge of the climate is important because it helps the farmers to plan and conduct their planting operations and other activities.
