FIVE (5) REASONS BULLY-VICTIMS SUFFER IN SILENCE AND THE WAYS OUT

No parent wants to see their kids harassed by the category of people called Bullies. It affects the mental health of such a child and keeps them withdrawn from the public. Here are a few reasons why victims of bully suffer in silence:

1) DISBELIEF
Kids don’t speak up about their predicament because of disbelief, the fear of not being believed for speaking up. However, if you are a victim of such circumstances please, build the courage to speak up.

2) PROLONGED OPPRESSION
Abuse often happens in the absence of teachers. And teenagers keep silent about these bitter experiences because they fear talking about them will only worsen the situation. Their fear is rooted in the notion: that they will face prolonged oppression if their oppressors get confronted. They should know that if the problem Is not addressed, on time, more abuse will arise.

3) SHAME AND EMBARRASSMENT
Another reason why students keep quiet about the abusive experiences they have is to avoid shame and embarrassment. They do not want others to perceive them as weaklings and prefer to bottle up and have others believe that they’ve got their lives all sorted out.
If you are a victim of terror, don’t die in silence because of shame.

4) DESIRE FOR ACCEPTANCE
Another reason why victims keep their mouths shut during bitter situations is that they believe that going through such will gain the acceptance of everyone, so they go through it with the mindset that they are being tested and will be applauded In due season.

5) BELIEVING THAT SPEAKING UP WILL PRODUCE NO RESULT
Students who are victims of bullying choose to remain silent because they assume that speaking up will change nothing. Some believe their teacher won’t even accept them, some worry the teachers will take sides with the bully, and in the end, they will both lose the case and attract greater punishments from the bullies for implicating them.

NOTE: Reporting to the appropriate quarters will get the issue resolved once and for all. If you are a victim, be on the lookout for teachers who hate injustice and confide in them with wisdom, they will resolve the issue once and for all.
