Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has revealed why he did not invite one of Nigeria’s most talked about players, Ikechukwu Uche, who plays for Villareal in the Spanish Laliga, for the games against Congo and South Africa.
Asked why Uche has not been invited to the national team recently, Keshi revealed that he was supposed to be part of the Nations Cup preparatory team currently in Calabar but he wanted me to beg him.
“He was supposed to be part of the team that is presently in camp but he said we must beg him first to play for Nigeria because he was left out of some competitions but I can’t beg anyone to play for Nigeria, impossible. That’s why he is not here.”
But report on Thursday suggests Uche denied the allegation, saying he will not turn down the call to play for Nigeria.
