Saturday is usually a day we all look forward to. At least for one thing – we don’t have to wake up so early to rush to school. However, the day can also become so boring and make you feel lonely if you’re not careful.
Beyond staying glued to your phone and chatting all day, this list of ideas for fun weekend activities might inspire you to do something more refreshing and fun.
1. Explore and plan a road trip
Weekends are the only time during the semester you will have space for a spontaneous road trip. Grab a group of friends and take a day trip to somewhere you have never been before. All you need is good friends, an exciting location and tasty food to have a good time.
2. Go to the park.
Hopefully you will have a park that is within walking or cycling distance. Parks are usually very busy at the weekend, so choose your time carefully.
3. Start a project
Have you had a project you’ve been dying to do for months but still haven’t got to it? Now is the perfect time to do this. Whether it is a project repairing something in your house, a class assignment or a craft for your friend, you will feel accomplished once you complete it. Not only will this be therapeutic and relaxing, but you will feel like you used your weekend time wisely.
4. Organise a video game competition
For boys, host a videogame tournament at your house or, if you have the space or live near a park, have a sports day.
5. Attend an event
Go to free outdoor concerts, big music festivals or sports games.
6. Catch up on homework
Although you never want to spend your weekends off doing homework, this is the best time to get work done. Getting all of your work done on a Saturday will leave your Sunday empty and open for a relaxing day that is much needed.
7. Organise a volunteer activity.
Volunteer at the weekend to help out in your local community. This could be helping out to fill potholes or clearing the drainage.
8. Watch a movie.
You could rent a movie at home, or for a change of scene, why not go out to the cinema at the weekend and watch the latest film.
9. Organise a “get-together” with friends.
Get a group of friends together and do something fun outdoors. This could be any outdoor activity you can think of.
10. Go to a friend’s house.
Get out of your own house and visit a friend. Perhaps you have a teenage friend who needs some company or cheering up. You could go through lots of photos and remember the great times you have had.
