One of the ridiculous things that might happen to you in your teen years is to have a crush on your teacher. But if there has ever been an “off limits” situation in life, this is 110% it. Any way you approach the circumstances, it’s perhaps illegal, immoral or just completely unethical.
First off, you’re most likely under the age of consent (18 years), and any romantic activity with anyone over that age is legally seen as statutory rape. Whether or not you consent to it or want it does not matter at all. The act alone is completely illegal. Law enforcement and judges don’t take it lightly, and if found guilty it carries a hefty jail sentence for the person over 18. Even if things didn’t go that far, if the school found out your teacher was making even the slightest advance toward any student, he’s likely to lose his job.
You might not like those facts, but it doesn’t make them any less true. Inappropriate adult-student relationships make headline news on a regular basis, and it never works out well for the adult in question. So the reality is, the best thing you can do is to get over it as quickly as possible.
In essence, your teacher IS NOT at all a datable person, and any advances you might make to him/her will only lead to trouble for the teacher and maybe even losing his/her job. If you really like your teacher, just be the best student you can and leave it at that.
