Are there any benefits to using specific cryptocurrencies for gaming?

I’m relatively new to the whole crypto gaming scene, and I’m trying to figure out if there’s any real difference between using various cryptocurrencies. Is it just a matter of personal preference, or do certain coins offer distinct advantages or disadvantages when it comes to online gaming? For example, would using Bitcoin be notably different from using Ethereum, or even a newer altcoin? I’m hoping to understand if there are strategic reasons to pick one over another for gaming.
