Cooperation

Cooperation is the process of group of individual working together for the purpose of achieving a common goal.

Cooperation is the means whereby people combine resources together for the purpose of achieving a common interest.

It is the process of working or acting together with willingness to help out to achieve a common goal.

Attributes of Cooperation

  1. Common goal: In cooperation there must be a common goal to achieve, if there is no common goal then there won’t be any reason for cooperation. Common goal in the sense of having a common interest.
  2. Sharing: Sharing is the ability to share or give. In cooperating individual must be willing to share ideas or opportunities together for the same purpose of achieving a common interest.
  3. Determination: Another characteristics of cooperation is determination, this means that all member of the group must be focus and be determined to achieve the set goal, if not , any little challenge can make the goal unachievable.
  4. Dedication: Every member of the group has to dedicate their time and energy to ensure that the set goals is achieved.

Benefits of Cooperation

  1. Cooperation makes a group or organization to achieve their set goals.
  2. It creates room for development
  3. Cooperation encourages team work i.e ability to work with others.
  4. Cooperation encourages self development.
  5. It creates stability
  6. It creates room for peace and harmony in the society.
  7. There will be progress in the society
  8. There will be peace and absence of war.
  9. There will be harmony among the people
  10. Cooperation will make a group, organization or country attain their goals
  11. There will be meaningful togetherness
  12. There will be growth and development in the society
  13. Cooperation brings about orderliness in the society

Consequences of Non-Cooperation

Non- cooperation is the opposite of cooperation; it is a situation where people refuses to work together to achieve common goals and objectives. Some of the consequences of non cooperation are:

  1. There will be conflict in the society
  2. There will be no development
  3. There will be no progress in the society
  4. Lack of cooperation in the society leads to disorderliness.
  5. The consequences are negative.
