Not too long ago, the Co-Creation Hub in Lagos came up with an initiative targeted at young people (teenagers to be specific), with the aim of teaching them basic software engineering skills. This is something unheard of in this part of the world; something that would have been thought impossible just a few years ago. But this is 2017, and surprisingly there are already some young people [in this country] who are doing some amazing things when it comes to coding. Despite the exception however, majority of the teens do not even understand how to use the computer much less code. This therefore begs the question as to why it is important for teens to really learn how to code. Read below to see some of the reasons why you must make effort to learn how to code.
CODING IS THE BASIC ASPECT OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY WHICH EVERYONE MUST LEARN
As you may well know, it is 2017 and we are living in the Information Age otherwise known as the Digital Age. Most of the things we do these days are directly influenced by Information Technology and there is no how to avoid IT; except to find an ancient cave somewhere in the deepest wilderness. Therefore, since IT has become an integral aspect of our everyday living, what better way to really make use of it than to become a contributor other than a mere consumer?! You could make a highly successful career in the future just by learning/knowing how to write those programming languages!
PROGRAMMING CURRENTLY RUNS THE WORLD!
This is in line with the point above. Our lives are so dependent on Information Technology such that there is simply no how anyone can avoid it. Instead, people are in constant need of the next big thing that can be accomplished with the use of IT. This makes Programmers (i.e., Tech Geeks who can code “fire”) indispensable. Their services are needed in every sector of every single economy in the world. Imagine yourself being so sought after by the biggest companies just because you could write the Javarscript or whatever it’s called! It should be nice… So learn coding today.
IT SHOULDN’T EVEN BE SO HARD TO LEARN HOW TO CODE ONCE YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO IT!
Now I am not speaking from experience because to be frank, I can’t code Jack! However, some Tech Gurus I know have assured me that one could indeed learn the process quite easily once you put your mind to it and dedicate time. I wish I could be free enough to dedicate my time to the process because only goodness knows how much I wish I could code right now!
