DISPEL (Verb)

The nifty thing about dispel is that you can use it when talking about emotional problems (such as worries and fears) as well as physical ones (such as wild cats).

 MEANING:
1. to cause to separate and go in different directions
2. to remove fears, doubts, and false ideas, usually by proving them wrong or unnecessary

 EXAMPLE:
1. Daniel dispelled the pack of wild cats with two dogs
2. I’d like to start the speech by dispelling a few rumours that have been spreading recently.
