The Emir of Kazaure, Jigawa State, Alhaji Njib Hussaini Adamu, has raised alarm that the persistent consumption of hard drugs and other intoxicating substances by the youths is responsible for terrorism and other security challenges in the country.
He made the observation in his Sallah address which he delivered during the traditional Hawan Bariki Durbar celebration last Thursday at his palace.
He lamented that taking narcotics has become a common phenomenon among youths now, pointing out that if the trend is allowed to continue unchecked, the country will continue to witness insecurity.
The emir warned parents to monitor the movement of their children as well as to take care of their feeding, accommodation, clothes, and their modern and Islamic education as the panacea to committing crimes in the society.
Emir Hussaini Adamu urged people to seek for forgiveness from God and desist from sin as the only way to get salvation.
The emir who congratulated the president, the Sultan of Sokoto, the governor of Jigawa and his subjects for the Eid-l Kabir, urged his subjects to give out Zakat, Islamic tax, with a viewto purify their wealth and have the blessing of God.Alhaji Najib Hussaini Adamu also prayed that God will continue to bless Jigawa and Nigeria and also called on his subjects to leave in peace especially with non-indigenes.
