After a series of successful events during the year, LACE – a budding initiative for teenage girls is set to hold its biggest event so far, tagged “LACE Purple Ball”
LACE, acronym for “Ladies after Christ’s Example” is a Faith-based initiative for teenage girls centred on reviving, renewing and rejuvenating the spirit, mind and body of teenagers through informal gatherings/meetings/outings.
The mission is to raise a generation of young women who would take their place as pace-setters in their generation, building girls who would be aware of their worth and essence, ultimately affecting our community and Nigeria as a whole.
This December, LACE will be holding its fifth impactful and fun event, which will also be the grand finale for the year 2013. The even, “LACE Purple Ball” will be hosted by Dansol High School, Ikeja, Lagos.
This event aims at enlightening and entertaining about 300 girls through music, dance, drama and a mini fashion show as well as talk shows.
Guest Speakers for the Day are Titilola Tewe and Toyosi Akerele who would be talking on “Becoming a 21st Century Esther”.
Live music performances by Toeyoursea, Cstas, Viva. Dance by Alien Nation and Drama by Global Impact Church drama group. Fashion show by various young designers.
There will also be a fundraising segment to raise funds which will be used to get provisions and gift items for orphans at the Love Home Orphanage. This is a way of giving back to the society and encouraging the girls to give. The provisions will be taken to the orphanage the weekend after the event.
“With that in mind, I’m certain you quite agree that there is a dire need to lead this generation of young, fun-seeking and spirited girls the right path. So, let’s do this together. We need all of your support, together we can build these girls”, said the event organiser, Simisola Agunbiade.
