They give their wearer the power to throw webs, release laser weapons from their hands and grow killer claws.
The augmented reality skinsuits have been developed by Marvel to turn fans into their favourite superhero
However, there is one catch – you’ll have to don a skintight ‘morph suit’ to do it.
The suits were created by UK firm Morphsuits, which previously made the odd blue suits that have become a common sight at fancy dress parties and music festivals.
The new suits, however, are designed to make the wearer look like Spiderman, Ironman, Deadpool, Wolverine and Captain America.
‘Imagine not just looking like Iron Man, but being able to fire repulsors from your palms and having a glowing Arc reactor at the centre of your chest,’ said
Gregor Lawson, co-founder of Morphsuits.
‘That was our dream, and these awesome costumes make that a reality.
‘You can have Wolverine’s Adamantium claws, Fire Spiderman’s webbing or throw Captain America’s shield – all with the power of the Morphsuits app and its built-in augmented reality features.’
The suits work using augmented reality apps from Zappar, which has previously developed interactive ads.
In order to bring the costumes to life, super heroes simply select the relevant animation on the Morphsuits app and slip their smartphone handset into the specially engineered slot in the costume, which they displays a video animation.
The costumes also feature augmented reality markers to sling webbing, fire repulsors, or unleash Adamantium claws when viewed through a smartphone or tablet.
The patented innovation of integrating smartphone animations into Morphsuits was developed by ex-NASA engineer turned app developer and costume designer, Mark Rober.
Following Morphsuits purchase of Rober’s Digital Dudz start up last year, he has teamed up with Morphsuits’ design team to bring to life some of the biggest super hero names in the world.
