Secondary school teachers are invited to register for a course at the Future Classroom Lab by European Schoolnet, dedicated to the enhancement of practice and strategy in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in secondary schools. The course is held in Brussels, Belgium, from 23 to 27 April 2019.
Teachers who attend the course get resources and ideas that can help them bring effective and quality teaching of STEM disciplines into their classrooms, while also developing and applying innovative teaching approaches to increase their students’ knowledge, skills and interest in STEM. The course includes hands-on workshops, for example on coding, and active exploring of online resources, such as virtual labs and research centres or space-related activities, among other ingenious tools.
The course is co-organised as part of four different European projects. Those projects are Scientix (the community for science education in Europe), Next-Lab (Next Generation Stakeholders and Next Level Ecosystem for Collaborative Science Education with Online Labs), TIWI (Teaching ICT with Inquiry) and the STEM School Label.
This is one of several courses that are planned for teachers in 2019 at the Future Classroom Lab by European Schoolnet. Among other topics covered in those courses are programming for 21st century classrooms, active learning, digital citizenship, inclusive and diverse classrooms and interactive classroom technologies.
