#PNN E-MENTORING (Taiwo Akinlami): Beyond Age, What TEENAGER Really Means (4)

I am here today with a very heavy heart. Our two hundred (200) girls kidnapped from their school since April 15, 2014, 13 days ago are yet to be rescued. As I write, I do not have answers to how they can be found. In times like this when I find it difficult to find answers, I have always discipline myself to find hope. Hope in most cases is of higher values than answers.

I charge you to keep hope alive through sincere prayers for the safety, preservation and eventual rescue of these innocent girls, whose only crime is that they chose to go to school, in pursuit of great future.

Permit me to conclude this series on your identity as a teenager as I conclude on letter, ‘R.’ I said last week that letter, ‘R’ stands for Reality Deficiency.  I will like to say that again your Reality Deficiency status is often fuelled by the custodians of your life, particularly when they have means. They give you false security. They lavish you with wealth beyond what your mind can handle. This does not give you the full picture of the world the way it is. You judge life by the school you go, by the cars you drive or in which you are driven, by the house you live, by the places you travel to for holidays and the rest…

Somehow, when the reality of life comes calling (and it will always come), you may be stranded… I guess that is the point Jim Stovall is trying to make in his bestselling novel, The Ultimate Gift, which was made into a movie…I highly recommend the novel or the film to you.

While it is not wrong to make wealth available to you, the mistake some of your custodians make is to give to you what they have made(their wealth)  but they do not give you what made them (their principles)…I just paraphrased Bishop T.D. Jakes. You see there is more to what Bishop Jakes is saying here than I can possibly discuss, I leave the rest to you meditation.

Peter J. Daniel is a very rich man, who has gone through a lot of ups and downs. He had made money and lost it five times before he finally stabilized. His son at a time had financial crisis and Peter J. Daniel sought to bail him out. He refused. He told his father to allow him to go through his financial crisis, come out of it and learn his own lessons same way the father did.

I hope by this series, I have not only introduced you to you, I have also helped you to come to terms with some of your struggled, with a view to helping you to be a better person.

I will be here next week to begin to talk to you about self-protection from abuses like physical abuse (including bullying), cyber bulling, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and the rest. You cannot afford to miss this all-important series. I am signing out. Before then, note that I am available for interaction on this platform. Do have an INSPIRED week. Stay SMART!
