The 2019 Accreditation of Academic Programmes in Nigerian Universities by NUC, Abia State University (ABSU) has received full accreditation in nine out of the eleven programmes accredited, while two programmes were interim.
The Following Programmes Were Awarded Full Accreditation:
- Law
- Mass Communication
- Library and Information Science
- Agriculture
- Political Science
- Surveying and Geo-informatics
- Geography and Planning
- Social Studies
- Education Management and Planning
Economics and Education/Fine and Applied Arts got interim accreditation.
In his reaction, the Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne, thanked the Governor and Visitor to the University, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D for his Magnanimity, moral and financial support that ensured the exercise was successful.
The Vice-Chancellor also appreciates the Governing Authorities of the University, Staff and Students for their cooperation.
Abia State University has over the years, excelled in the National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation exercises.
