Despite investing over £50m in Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez the Metro claims that Arsenal are readying a £15m bid for Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike.
The Nigerian international has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League for the best part of two years and has been a moderate success in Turkey but one wonders quite why Arsene Wenger would feel the need to target the former Spartak Moscow man.
Emenike has scored 12 goals in 28 matches last season and picked up nine assists but given that both Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are nearing returns from respective injuries there seems little reason to bring in another forward, let alone one with very little top league experience.
Wenger may be better off investing the £15m in the signing of a much needed defensive midfielder.
