ASUU STRIKE: Students Threaten To Shut Down Private Universities

The lack of resolution in the negotiations between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government have prompted students in Ekiti State to threaten to storm private universities, Tribune reports.

According to the students, the government’s insensitivity regarding the ASUU’s demands were because their own children are educated in foreign and private universities.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Committee commented that the Federal Government should meet the ASUU’s demands as that is what was promised and threatened that if the strike did not end, they would disrupt activities at private universities.
