Adding to the numerous reasons you should take education seriously is this quite hilarious but very serious situation.
An Indian bride has refused to marry her groom to be after he failed a simple maths test.
The bride was said to have openly asked her groom-to-be to add 15 and 6. The groom gave 17 for an answer. The bride immediately called off the wedding saying he was an illiterate.
The groom’s family had tried to persuade her to go on with the wedding but she refused.
In India, marriages are arranged by the families, and it is common that intending couples may get married without even spending time with each other.
It was later gathered by police that the groom’s family tried to cover up his poor education. All exchanged gifts before the wedding have been returned.
