When people utter the words “education is key”, what they truly mean is that it [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][education] unlocks the padlocks to the future, the padlocks to potentials and the padlocks to opportunities. It is like a the ultimate weapon which not only puts you in charge of your uncertain circumstances, but also enables you protect yourself against odds, secure your interests and be safe. Indeed, Education as the key to life enables each and every one of us for us to decide who we want to be in life, how useful we want to be and what values we impact into the lives of others.
In Nigeria, there are nearly two hundred million people. Unfortunately, most of these people are illiterates! Perhaps this explains most of the ills plaguing our societies because when you have such vast amount of uneducated people, that means there are several number of people who are yet to discover the keys to their potentials and as such are letting said potentials waste away. These people, though valuable nonetheless, are unable to contribute their deepest worth to the development of society. In most cases, they are impoverished even as their futures are uncertain; bleak. And then here is the saddest aspect of it all- the fact that these uneducated [illiterates] cut across ages; the old and the young. But then this puzzles me…why any young person in 2016 should be without education. There is absolutely no excuse for this; not even the most abject of impoverishments!
I believe that most of you already know the importance of education by now. Also, you are well aware of the much havoc it can cause. Therefore, as teenagers in school, it behooves of you all to pay the closest attention to your books, bearing in mind that not every teenager is fortunate to be availed the opportunity to access education due to one reason or the other. And beyond just studying your books, there is one other very important thing you must do as teenagers, and that is to always spread the word about the importance of Education; helping others to understand what it can do for them. When you do this, you bring to life the meaning of the expression that “education is key” and people must indeed acquire this key and use it to their advantage.
Let us all spread the immense importance of Education on a daily basis and by so doing encourage those who do not see these importance to do just that- see it.
