The Ability to Set Attainable Goals
It’s important to set goals, as long as they’re attainable. Setting goals that are unreasonably high is a set-up — you’ll be given to frustration and disappointment.
Listen to your teacher and stay focused. Be sure that you understand the lesson. If you don’t understand something, ask questions! You’ve heard it before, but “the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask” is absolutely true. If you’ve been paying attention, it definitely won’t be a dumb question.
You can’t possibly write down everything the Teacher says since we talk at a rate of about 225 words per minute. But, you do need to write down the important material.
Be sure to validate yourself after a test by going back over your notes to see if your notes contained the answers to questions asked on the test. If not, you need to ask to see a classmate’s notes or check with the teacher for help on improving your note-taking.
Studying with a partner is also a good idea, provided that you study and don’t turn it into a talk-fest (there’s time for that later). Note-taking should be in a form that’s most helpful to you. If you’re more of a visual person, try writing notes on different colored index cards. Music can also be a good memory aid as long as you don’t find it distracting. Re-writing your notes daily is another strategy. If you really have a problem with note-taking, you might ask your teacher if you can tape-record daily lessons. Do whatever it takes!
Completion of Assignments
Teachers assign homework for a reason. While it may seem like “busywork” at times, it definitely has a purpose. Put your homework to good use. Remember, you’ll only get out of it what you put into it!
Review of Daily Notes
Don’t wait until the night before the test to review your notes. Go over your notes each day while the lecture is still fresh in your mind. Add any missing pieces. Compare your notes with a classmate’s notes. This isn’t cheating — it may even be mutually beneficial. Review your notes each day to reinforce your learning and build towards your ultimate goal: MASTERY of the subject or skill.
Keeping yourself organized will save you valuable time and allow you to do everything you need to do. Remember: “A place for everything and everything in its place.” Keep all your study materials (calculator, planner, books, notebooks, laptop, etc.) in one convenient location.
You need to be motivated to learn and work hard, whether or not you like a specific subject or teacher. Self-motivation can be extremely important when you aren’t particularly excited about a class. If you must, view it as an obstacle you must overcome. Then, set your mind to it and do it — no excuses. Success is up to you!
You’ve started the course, now you need to complete it. Do the best — and get the most out of it — that you can! Your commitment will pay off in the end.
Spinal cord should be of 90 degree. It improves your concentration and memory.
Study on table and chair or dining table. Avoid studying on bed.
Open book and move your finger below the words while reading and read it loud.
Ask yourself questions about the paragraph you read.
If you are solving a difficult problem, write it and try to solve it in writing.

Make a habit of preparing notes while studying. The benefit of making notes is that you will not need to revise big books before the exams.
There are three methods to prepare notes:
1. Numbered list
It is list of important points
2. Notes in two column
One column is for important points and second is for outline.
3. Notes in three column
Two columns are same as above and third one contain question that can asked from first two column.
If it is possible, try to discuss topics you have studied with your friend or family member. Study shows that we remember more when we discuss than when we read.
Some students think that things they are studying have no relevance in their life. This is not good thinking. It is important to use your book knowledge in real life. For example, If you are learning new words , try to use it, with your regular language. While learning areas, you can calculate area of your house and calculate its cost by using per square feet value of your neighborhood. Students, who are learning simple interest and compound interest, can find loan simple and compound interest for their parents.
What to Eat:
Students who take healthy food can score 10 percent more than they usually score.
Please do not eat junk food
Students should eat things which supply continuous energy to their brain for long span of time.
For e.g. Sprouted food, High protein diet, Green Vegetables etc.
Have all necessary material with you
You can’t borrow items such as pens, pencils, rulers or special equipment while in an examination.
Have a relaxing night before your exams
Have an early night, and try to have a healthy breakfast.
Read the entire paper.
Where you have choices, decide which ones you plan to answer.
Plan your time.
Spend some time drafting a plan for the questions you choose to answer.
Jot down ideas as they come to you.
While you are answering one question, information about another may suddenly occur to you. Jot it down somewhere because when you come to that question perhaps an hour later, you may have forgotten it.
Don’t leave any questions unanswered.
If you are short of time, use note form. Remember, you can only be marked on the answers you give.
Never leave the room early.
If you have time at the end, go over your work, add information (eg in the margin). You can’t return if you suddenly remember a fact after you have left.
Do not spend too long on multiple choice questions.
With multiple choice questions it is best to cover the answers and work out your own before looking at the choices on paper. If you can’t answer the question come back to it later – have a guess.
Never omit an entire question.
No matter how well you answer other questions, you must leave time for all questions – a perfect answer can still only earn a certain number of marks. If you write nothing, you can’t receive any marks and you have lost all your marks for a particular question. Write something – it may at least give you a few points.
