From Garri to Bread: D’banj turns Master Baker, set to launch Koko Bread

After the successful launch of Koko Garri, Nigerian international singer and entrepreneur, Dapo Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj or Koko Master, is making plans to launch his own brand of bread called Koko Bread.

The ‘Entertainer’ crooner who has not rested on his oars by delving into various sectors of businesses, especially agriculture, is joining in the campaign to boost youth empowerment and create jobs for teeming jobless Nigerians.

D’banj who spoke on the topic, “Do Africa, It Pays”, at the ‘One Africa’ campaign in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, in line with the African Union Declaration of 2014 as the year of agriculture and food security, made it clear that his Koko Holdings would start the production of cassava bread to support the government’s effort to lure youths into agriculture.

“I want to tell the youths that a farmer can wear a Rolex wristwatch and drive a Bentley.

I want the youths to see that I have already started. Please my dear youths, we can do it.

We should take a cue from Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote. He made his money partly through agriculture, not oil.

I will also be producing Koko Bread made from cassava just to practically support government’s drive to bring youths into agriculture.”

The ‘Fall in Love’ singer is also into cocoa farming, having acquired a large plantation in Ghana as well as being into several forms of commercial agricultural ventures.
