Girl Talk!!! How To Clean And Take Care Of Your Vagina

Taking care of your vagina everyday can help you to avoid smell, infection or abnormal discharge. It is important to know the dos and don’ts when it comes to vaginal care in order to prevent infections, odour and irritation. Occasional washing of your vagina is necessary and in most, water is all you need on the outer area of your genitals. So if you’re already in the shower, use your hand or a washcloth to gently clean the area with water. Here are some ways to take care of your vagina:

1. WASH THE VAGINA AT LEAST TWICE DAILY
If you work out, sweat excessively, or if you are involved in some other sweat-inducing activity, you must wash after each activity. Also after urinating, you should rinse off the remains from your vagina. Make sure you change your undergarments daily and wash them in hot water to kill any stubborn bacteria. This will help to get rid of sweat and bacteria that may have been trapped, leaving you feeling and smelling better.

2. DO NOT DOUCHE
You think your vagina needs help to be clean, NO!!! It actually cleans itself. Don’t use antiseptic soaps or body scrubs to wash your vagina. These products make the vagina unfavourable for good bacteria and impact on vagina health causing candida super-infection (the one popularly called “toilet infection”). Worse, you’ll remove the good bacteria that help maintain a healthy pH and make room for odour- and infection- causing bacteria to move in. So keep it simple and clean your vulva with warm water, by hand, then leave it be.

3. AVOID THE USE OF FEMININE HYGIENE PRODUCTS
Products claiming to clean, deodorize, and groom the vagina area are best left at the drugstore. The fragrances, dyes, chemicals, preservatives, and anti-itch anesthetics they contain aren’t necessary, and can cause allergic reactions to the vagina. Vulva skin is extra sensitive because it’s thinner than skin on other parts of the body. Also, the vulva and vagina are hormone responsive tissues, and sensitivity goes up after menopause and may increase during parts of the menstrual cycle.” All you really need to clean your vagina with is warm water or water.

4. WEAR UNDERWEAR MADE OF COTTON MATERIAL
When it comes to your underwear selection, your vagina has a preference: COTTON. That’s why most under-wears come with a thin strip of cotton fabric in the crotch. It may interest you to know that, like every other part of the body, the vagina breathes and absorbs moisture and the best way you can help your vagina breathe well is by wearing cotton pants and underwear. And if perhaps you find yourself alone in the house, you might not wear anything in order to allow fresh air into the  vagina.

5. ALWAYS EAT PLAIN YOGURT
Take unflavoured yogurt regularly or take probiotics. Snacking on yogurt with live cultures helps boost the good bacteria in your lady part, which, as you know, is all around fantastic for preventing annoying vaginal problems like yeast infections. Make sure you are not taking the super-sugary kind, because that could expose you to infections. Yogurt contains live active bacteria that contribute to the healthy ecological balance of the vagina.

6. DURING PERIODS, CHANGE YOUR PADS REGULARLY
The longer they stay, the faster the bacteria on them will breed, causing potential infections. You should also avoid pads or tampons with deodorants, sprays or other chemicals. Its dangerous for your sensitive vagina.

7. REGULAR CHECK UPS

If you notice any swelling, itch or foul smell around your vagina. Visit your doctor.
