Haha! Kano Teen Boy, 14, sentenced to prison for killing his mother’s chicken

This is certainly not funny; it’s just weird!

There has been a report of a 14-year-old teenager (Names withheld) who was sentenced to 5-months imprisonment for allegedly killing his step-mother’s chicken in Wudil local government area of Kano State.

According to a lawyer in the state, Audu Bulama Bukarti, the boy had been having a dispute with his father’s wife for some months and out of youthful anger, killed one of the woman’s chicken and she called in the police who arrested him and charged him to court from where he was sent to jail.

Bukarti said:

“He was taken to the police station by the step-mum over her chicken and when efforts by the police to settle them yielded no result, the case was transferred to court.”

The boy was sent to a youth correctional centre to serve his time.
