Your heart drops to your feet, and your breath stops when he walks in. When he locks his gaze on you, smiles and says hello, you are sure you must have died and gone to heaven. This feeling is all fantastic, but there’s a little problem, you just can’t seem to speak! It’s like all the words you learnt in English class just evaporated from your brain.
Or you are the boy who always looks forward to a new school day, she’s the reason you even bother about your looks, and hope to God she notices and comments on your snazzy new hair cut. You often wish the rest of the world could melt away leaving just the two of you. But when she looks your way, you look away as fast as the speed of light!
Boys and girls, it doesn’t always have to be this way. You can have a crush, act cool, and even take it to the next level. Here’s how.
1. Your Crush Is Not As Perfect As You Think
The truth is that nobody is perfect. But you believe your crush is, because you have chosen to believe this. Knowing that your crush has flaws will help you get a better grip of yourself, and seeing that they are not any different from you. Find them!
2. Be Yourself!
Don’t change your entire self just to look “cool”. Take time to care for your looks by being hygienic, and well put together. Don’t also forget to simply enjoy every second of your life. Have fun with your friends, smile, laugh, be natural. And while you’re doing it, take a glance at your crush, but only for a fraction of a second, then look away. Make it appear like you only just noticed them. Never be too obvious.
3. Say Something
Why not start by saying something casual? Ensure to have a legitimate reason to speak with them. Why not start with a simple “Hello, how are you doing?” maintaining eye contact as you do so? This speaks volumes about your confidence – even if it’s a shaky one – it’s a fine start. You could also talk about things you have in common; that really tough Maths problem, the project the class is currently working on, or what their opinions are on the weather, or an interesting issue.
4. Be Approachable
Stressful and awkward situations bring out the worst in us. Do you stiffen up or act unconcerned when your crush enters the same room, just to pretend like you are calm, composed and unaffected? This may happen involuntarily, but don’t stiffen up or go quiet in front of your crush.
Smile, be fun and appear approachable, but don’t be too easy. Always endeavour to strike the perfect balance between interest and being carefree. It will make your crush want to get to know a fun and happy person like you.
5. Use Your Please and Thank yous
The best way to arouse a crush’s curiosity and make them fall for you is by making yourself seem approachable, and yet walking away before they can do anything about it.
If you are walking past your crush, squeeze through near them, say “excuse me” and walk past them. And as you cross your crush, look straight into their eyes and smile just a little bit. After walking past, turn around, say “thank you” with a smile, and walk away. You will drive your crush crazy, and make them want to trail you and talk to you!
6. Build the Chemistry
Once you have caught the fancy of your crush, you need to start working on making them desire you. You don’t need to tell your crush that you like them at any point of time. All you need to do is psychologically convince your crush that they are the one who’s falling for you instead!
