An unknown gang of militants yesterday kidnapped six male students of Lagos State Model College at Igbonle, Epe in what most people are characterising as a reminiscent occurrence. It is being reported that the kidnappers earlier wrote the school management earlier in the week to inform them of the impending strike.
Unfortunately, nothing concrete was done to forestall the catastrophe, even though the school management contacted the Nigeria Police Force which in turn deployed officers to the school. The presence of the police at the premises of the school was said to have been overpowered by the militants who came in large numbers and with weapons far more sophisticated than what the police officers had.
Speculations are also rife that the kidnappers came all the way from the Niger Delta region as they are known to engage in a number of nefarious activities along the coastline area.
Please note that as at the time of filing this report, there is no concrete statement from authorities as the current state of things; specifically efforts being made to recover the abducted students.
Concerned parents are said to have converged at the school to either take their wards home or as for their missing children.
It should be recalled that last October, some hoodlums attacked the same school abducted four students and two members of staff; the Vice Principal inclusive.
