Rita Dominic, Nollywood actress and producer, call on Nigerians on the need to be more tolerant and supportive of physically disabled persons.
In a recent chat with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos,the award-winning actress enjoined the government to provide mandatory support services to enable them to contribute to national development.
According to Rita, a show of love and care, rather than pity, would give such individuals a sense of belonging and integration in the society. ‘No one has seen God but the human beings we see are the manifestation of God, and so we need to show them love. The public needs to know these people exist,’ she said.
While pointing that disability does not discriminate as it could happen to anybody irrespective of status or personality, The actress added: ‘We need to tolerate and accept them, they are human beings like us, if you don’t know them or go close to them, you won’t know their needs.’…
