Many music lovers in Nigeria and across the world were yesterday left bewildered after speculations arose as to whether everyone’s favourite rich kid turned musician is finally quitting the game altogether. No thanks to a Snapchat video which the superstar shared himself, the rumour quickly gathered momentum and surely left a lot of his fans saddened. Interestingly, as Pulse.ng later reported, the whole thing was all a joke.
Apparently, his hilarious but untrue decision to quite the entertainment industry stemmed from the fact that his billionaire father recently got even wealthier. The business magnet whose name is Chief Adedeji Adeleke recently signed a $4 billion contract. That staggering sum is indeed a lot to add to the family’s already established immense wealth. Little wonder Davido was too excited and jokingly decided to quite music. After all, who needs to struggle with song writing and stressful studio times when they are billions of dollars to be inherited; right?!

“We are rich…Nigga. I am not doing music again” said the award-winning singer on his Snapchat yesterday, Monday, March 6, 2017.
“Davido quits music! We no need am. I no dey do show again. We are rich. After all I get all the awards, so I no want again. We are too rich. We no dey sing again o.”
But not to worry because as we can authoritatively conform, the young rich man was only joking about retiring. If his number one song If is any indication, he still has a long and very successful career ahead of him. How nice that he is making all these cool cash in addition to his wealthy father’s estimated 30 billion naira networth!
