In every school on earth, there are those teachers who are dearly beloved and those ones who are just hated. Many reasons explain this; for while some students hate teachers for being disciplinarian, others simply hate them for no reason at all. In any case, let it be known that students have their preferences with teachers. Whether or not they love or hate a particular teacher all depends on said teachers’ behaviour. Therefore, in this post, we shall be looking at some of the reasons teachers are either hated or loved by their students. Enjoy the reading.
SOME TEACHERS ARE STRICT: To every teacher, being strict comes naturally with the job. They need to be firm, exercising authority when it’s needful so as to maintain order in the classroom. This is necessary considering how most teenagers would rather behave willfully and often wrongfully. Sadly though, this important attribute of teachers is the number one reason why students dislike them. No doubt, most of the teachers who are beloved by their teachers are usually the most lenient ones. But this does not undermine the importance of discipline in the classroom. Yet, inasmuch as teachers are expected to exert influence and exercise authority, they must ensure to never take it overboard. It is also important for the students [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][themselves] to accept this reality for what it is; after all discipline is for their own good. The teachers may have too many rules, yell at you and seem unfriendly. But at the end it is all for your good.
TEACHERS GIVE TOO MUCH HOMEWORK: This is another reason why students hate teachers. Now I understand that there are so many controversies surrounding whether or homework truly assist student’s learning. It could be hard to have a stand on this. But whatever the case, if teachers give homework because they believe it should improve students’ learning habits, then I suppose students should indeed do them. That is what currently obtains by the way. Little wonder the students hate teachers who give too many homework. Talk about what homework can cause!
TEACHERS TAKE AWAY STUDENTS’ MOBILE PHONES: It is easy to understand why this can be a major problem. In 2016, no teachers should be frowning at students who use their phones; like really! Agreed, there should be time for everything. It would be utterly inappropriate for any student to whip out their androids and start fiddling with it right while the teacher is teaching. However, completely banning students from owning and using their phones is wrong and should be stopped. If you are a teacher and you continue to frown against the use of mobile devices by teenagers, then you are indeed asking them to hate you. It shouldn’t be hard to explain to anyone that students now do E-learning on their phones other than just surf the net….
TEACHERS USE GRADES AS WEAPONS: They are the ones who award marks to students for participation in class. They also are the ones who deduct points for poor behaviour. They can even award a student zero mark for missing assignments who failing to submit homework. And then during exams, they decide whether or not a student graduates. Teachers; they have the marks as their bullets and can shoot it however they please! In return, those students hate them for it.
There are many more reasons why students can either love or hate teachers. Some of them are understandable while some aren’t. Well, all that can be said at this juncture is this- inasmuch as it may be impossible to have a situation where every student love their teachers, teachers should find a way to accommodate the excesses of students while still showing them the right way. Teachers should do this because in the student-teacher relationship, they have the upper hand any day any time.
