It is obvious that passions give us purpose, but beyond purpose, passion makes us feel that we have purpose in our lives. Passion constantly gets us to have the feeling that we are on the right path in life. This keeps us going even when it is seemingly tough.
In the book, “Talent is never enough”, John C. Maxwell raised important issues, he wrote, “What carries people to the top? What makes them take risks, go the extra mile and do whatever it takes to achieve their goals? It isn’t talent. It’s passion. Passion is more important than a plan. Passion creates fire. It provides fuel. I have yet to meet a passionate person who lacks energy. As long as the passion is there, it doesn’t matter if they fail. It doesn’t matter how many times they fall down. It doesn’t matter if others are against them or if people say they cannot succeed. They keep going and make the most of whatever talent they possess. They are talent-plus people and do not stop until they succeed.
This is very succinct in describing who a truly passionate individual is. Beyond talent, passion is important and Passionate leaders do things differently in ways we will consider in this article. Passionate Leaders are:
- Are excited about what they do.
It is a joyful thing to be passionate about something. Passion stimulates excitement. Students do creative writing, some love to speak and thus represent their schools in debates others do artistic drawing. You need to see the look on the face of a student that just represented his school in a debate competition and emerged winner, he beams with great smiles. When you commit to what you like doing, you radiate excitement more frequently.
- Are people who take calculated risks
I have met with people who love what they do dearly. Although they have first given due diligence to discover what it is that they want to do with their lives. They do not take their lives as a joke. They reach out to the beyond. They do extraordinary things that keep them more excited. They take more calculated risks and not foolish risks. There is huge benefit attached to taking calculated risk. You must have considered critically what you are about to do and it must be a valid bid otherwise, abort it. However, I can say with all assurance that if you show me a passionate person, I can tell you he takes big risks.
3. Are Devoted to their Dreams.
A life of fulfillment is achieved when one commits to what he is passionate about. Every one desires fulfillment but it is evident that not many people can follow the path. Your dreams, your purpose is your life and if you are a passionate person, you devote your time, energy, resources to your life, your dreams, and in the fulfillment of your purpose. That is really where satisfaction lies.
- Are positive about their future
Napoleon Hill, in his book, “Positive Mental Attitude” says, “What a mind can conceive and believe, this it can achieve”. It is necessary to look into ones future with optimism. See big things ahead of you. I know that it is to the extent at which you can see that you can go. Remain positive!
