Selena Gomez put to blast a fan-turned bully after she shared a photo and got a bad comment from her. The user, whose account has since been deactivated, reportedly wrote that the Wizards of Waverly Place alum should “burn in hell with cancer” — a remark that did not sit well with Gomez. In a swift response to the negative remark by the fan, she left her own message on one of the user’s photos, which she then captured in a screenshot and shared with her 10.8 million.

The message read;

“The comment you left about cancer was absurd. How distasteful of a young woman,” Gomez wrote. “I have gone through that battle with fans and family members. You can dislike someone but to wish something that could happen to you or your family is uncalled for sweetheart.” “You won’t be winning ‘anyone’s’ heart that way,” she continued. “Trust me. Educate yourself a tad more. God bless love. Be an amazing woman. You’re beautiful.”

After sharing the photo message she wrote: “Honestly, I don’t speak up much because it’s simply *always* taken out of context. But I don’t take bullying well. I have seen too much to not say anything.”

While some fans supported her for standing up against bullying, others accused her of being a hypocrite and publicly humiliating the girl in front of millions of people. As at the time of this report, the post has nearly 34,000 comments.
