How Students Can Encourage Themselves To Overcome Failure And Be The Best [Still]

The fear of failure and failure itself are two things that weigh most students down. Not only does one’s inability to excel in exam bring shame (especially considering how such a student would have to repeat a class with his/her juniors), it also leaves an ever present feeling that one is not just good enough; inferior. Moreover, a student who has ever failed an exam may likely fear s/he will fail in subsequent exams. Trust me, this makes for quite some depression! Sadly, many students experience this every time. So how can you overcome this fear? Please read below to find out.

The first step to overcoming the fear of failure is to admit that everybody fails! I know this may sound a bit patronizing, but it’s the truth. There is no single human being in the world who hasn’t [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][at some point] failed; this is the reality of life. As a matter of fact, some if not all the most successful people in the world started on the journey to greatness by failing repeatedly. Therefore, just because you failed an example does not mean you are a failure. You are worth so much more. Realize that!

Fear of failure

Do not make excuses for your failure! Take it upon yourself as a mistake you have made and work towards remedying the mistake. Look at yourself closely and realize some of the factors that led to your academic failure- was it your inability to study when you were supposed to or outright laziness? Whatever the course, take the blame. Do not justify yourself; you failed! Instead, work towards making sure that you never have to fail again. The best way to do this is to correct the things you did wrong.

Strengthen your weakness. The ancient philosopher Socrates once said that “The unexamined life is not worth living.” This aphorism couldn’t be truer than true. Therefore, it’s important for everyone to reexamine their lives and especially so when failures occur. Understand that you failed because of your weaknesses, replace your weaknesses with strength and go be the best you are yet to be. You have all it takes to be the best.

Moving on, it’s also important for you to seek help when necessary.

Get yourself motivated for success.

Learn from your mistake (failure)

And learn from the mistakes of others.

All the best!
