Most teenagers prefer junks to actual healthy foods. Their appetites [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][cravings] usually always tilt towards sugary and salty foods, greasy fried stuff and everything junk. They hate vegetables and beans, and can drink soda water instead of actual water after every meal they eat. This is the typical teen’s diet…everything junk and unhealthy; Lol. You see, each and every teenager out there has a sweet tooth. As a result, virtually everything they eat must be tasty if not they can hardly enjoy it. Agreed, teenagers’ digestive systems are healthy enough to handle all the metabolism that goes with breaking down the junk food they eat, converting them to useful energy. But this soes not (by any means) give any teen a pass to eat any sort of rubbish…
The thing about eating unhealthy meals all the time is that it becomes a habit, one that is difficult to break. Eating too much of the sweetened, salty and fatty foods can negatively affect one’s health in the long run. Consequently, while teenagers may run along with the mindset that their young bodies are strong enough to digest the junk food as they come, their bodies gradually becomes used to craving for junks such that they keep on eating unhealthy even as they grow old. The long term negative effects are too numerous to enumerate; therefore it is advisable to deviate from the junk eating as soon as possible.
Of course teenagers can still treat themselves every now and then to some junks; we all do. However, junks should never take the place of regular balanced diet which your body needs for optimal maturity/development. Moreover, eating healthy never hurts anybody! And even though most of the balance diets are usually the most unappetizing to most teens, these foods are normally the ones that will best enhance your brain development and functionality, helping you perform better even in your academics. Therefore, while you are agreed to eat your junks, always ensure a balance. Do not be taken away by how sweet that doughnut tastes or how delicious the fried yam is. Know when to put away the cake and chocolates. And come on…don’t frown at the vegetables, guys!
Healthy alternatives to sugary foods include different types of fresh fruits which have natural sweet and are also low in calories. And when it comes to a salty food, there is never a better alternative than to keep everything moderated. Your body do not need much of these substances (sugar and salt) introduced to it all the time and especially not in excess. And guys, don’t be surprised to know that some teenagers are also having diabetes and other serious health complications just because of unhealthy diet choices and other bad lifestyles. We don’t want you falling sick, please…
In conclusion, eat healthy by balancing your meals and ensuring moderation. You are a lot more productive to yourself and society when you are healthy and happy.
