It’s four days to Christmas and we are all excited! Everybody knows that the Christmas period is the best time of the year. It is indeed the most anticipated holiday of all. And what’s more…the Christmas break is just fun and more fun! It doesn’t matter how young or old you are; everybody likes Christmas. I am particularly excited about it. That is why for my first article in a long while, I decided to talk about the seven most exciting things about Christmas. By the way, I apologize for my long absence. It was inevitable as I had to focus a bit on the administrative aspect of work. But now I’m back. Yay!!! Enjoy the article please…
The first exciting thing about Christmas is that it is holiday time. It doesn’t matter whether you are a student or an overworked Employee, we are welcome holidays. And what’s more…the Christmas Holiday comes with just a lot more excitement. It is indeed the most exciting annual holiday of all time and everybody looks forward to it. Aren’t you just excited that it is Christmas once again!
The Christmas period is the only time we meet Santa Claus. Okay just to be clear, I am talking about Father Christmas. We Nigerians know Santa Claus as Father Christmas. And that’s because he brings lots of goodies to children and cares for them all. Little wonder we love him and always look forward to meeting him all the time. Sadly and fortunately, Father Christmas only comes out during Christmas time. So yes…that makes Christmas very special. Take me to Father Christmas please!
We love Christmas because it is the only time it logical to decorate our homes with Christmas Trees. So let’s speak clear- it would be awkward to go to your friend’s house in the middle of August and see his or her living room decorated with Christmas tree and Christmas lights. If this ever happens you may likely be concerned for your friend’s mental wellbeing. But then Christmas trees are beautiful and everybody likes to see them. Now that’s what makes Christmas interesting; because you can finally have the right to hang your Christmas tree and stare at it all day long. How exciting!
So come on guys…we all love Parties, right? Yes we do. And the good news is that there are always so many parties during the Christmas season you’d be tired of them! This is another reason why many people like Christmas.
Lots of Presents! Agreed, Christmas isn’t all about sharing gifts and all. But we can’t do without it. Teenagers particularly like Christmas because it is the only time of the year when no aunty or uncle is justified for not buying you some presents. In other words, Christmas entitles you to receive plenty gifts and this is one reason you love it. You’re in the same spirit with me jor!
There are lots of Christmas Carols and free concerts! Jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh… Now you get what I mean, right? There are lots of exciting Christmas songs everywhere. And then your church and School will organize those melodious Christmas Carols. But that’s not all as you could also get the opportunity of attending a free concert if you are fortunate. More reasons to love Christmas!
Christmas is a good time to bond with friends and family. Friends and family are fantastic; undeniably so! And Christmas provides the right time for us to gather and remember how lucky we are to have people who love us. I hope you have a great Xmas with your families…and friends. Enjoy!
