I’ve noticed that some gloves cost more than knives, which surprised me. I thought knives were always the most valuable items. What affects glove pricing, and is there a system behind it?

Gloves are their own market. Some patterns and wear levels are really rare.

Gloves in CS2 have their own economy, and their pricing depends on a mix of pattern rarity, float, and popularity. The full pricing logic, including comparisons to knife valuation, is outlined well at https://dmarket.com/cs2-wiki/. For instance, Crimson Kimono gloves in Factory New condition are extremely rare and can go for more than mid-tier knives. The site also explains how glove float is usually higher than weapon skins, so even a Minimal Wear glove is considered valuable. Pattern placement also plays a big role — certain symmetrical or clean looks fetch higher prices. If you’re building a high-end inventory, knowing these distinctions can help you invest more wisely.
