Has anyone worked on a site where it was crucial to maintain a calm, unfussy appearance, without unnecessary ornamentation? I’m interested in this approach: so that the paving doesn’t clash with the house, the greenery, and the overall style, but looks natural and expensive. At the same time, the site isn’t the easiest – there’s a slope and the issue of where rainwater drains. How difficult is it to find professionals who understand this challenge and don’t push “more patterns and contrast”? And what’s more important in such projects in practice – a well-thought-out paving scheme, drainage, or the right color palette? Share with us if you’ve designed something less flashy, and more subdued and architecturally calm. This kind of experience is desperately needed right now.

The hardest part was finding people who wouldn’t push anything unnecessary. But once they did, they handled everything very calmly and carefully.

If you’re looking for a calm and understated design, it’s important that your contractor understands this. I think the specialists at https://oakshs.ca/rosedale-interlocking-services/ can help you with this, as they have projects where they focus on neat and neutral solutions, especially in complex areas. They consider the surroundings and don’t overwhelm the space. This is exactly what’s needed for a classic look. This approach looks more expensive than complex patterns.
