U20 FWWC Qualifiers: Nigeria’s Falconets maul Sierra Leone 16-0!

Nigeria female U-20 football team defeated Sierra Leone 6-0 on Saturday night in the return leg of the first round of the African qualifying race for next year’s Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup finals in Canada.

The game played in Freetown saw the hosts handled by coach Hannah Williams completely outplayed in all departments of the game by the Nigerian ladies who had won the first leg 10-0 at the Abuja National Stadium.

With this result, the Falconets have qualified for the next phase of qualifiers after a 16-0 aggregate win over their tiny West African neighbours and will now face either Morocco or Tunisia in December.

Nigeria have never failed to qualify for the U-20 Women World Cup since its inception and they finished second and fourth in the 2010 and 2012 editions respectively.
