Osun State University has urged its students, their guardians, groups and individuals to continue to relate with, and transact business with it through its social media platforms, while the current restriction of movement last.
A statement by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr Ademola Adesoji, said the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Labode Popoola, gave the directive to enable the institution listen to suggestions, interact and answer inquiries during the lockdown.
The university also said the development was in fulfilment of the mission to create a unique institution committed to the pursuit of academic innovation, skill-based training and a tradition of excellence in teaching, research and community service.
The statement read, “Recall that the University shutdown on March 20 in line with the Federal and State Governments’ directive and ever since then, parents, guardians and students of the University have been looking for a medium to inform and share knowledge during the lockdown.
“It is in view of this that the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Labode Popoola, released his phone number and those of other principal officers to staff and students for any inquiry, advice or suggestions and they have been assisting staff and students that are facing difficult situations or require any advice.
“The university is now ready to do more by getting closer to the students, parents, guardians, government, and anybody that may have reasons to positively share knowledge and answer queries on the University’s twitter handle @uniosun1 and Instagram @uniosun.”
