I understand that most fans of celebrities do not really bother themselves with knowing much about the academic histories of their favourite celebrities. But here at Passnownow.com, we are concerned about such things. And we expect our readers to be too. And that is why we have rounded up a few popular names in the entertainment industry and researched on them to find out which schools they attended. Some of the schools mentioned may probably surprise you. Please read below and be sure to leave your comments at the end of the read, telling us what you think and if at all your school is one of those attended by the celebs. Enjoy.
FALZ: Unlike popular belief, fuelled by his characteristic funny persona, Folarin Falana (known in the entertainment world as Falz) is a learned lawyer. He started his quest to academic excellence by completing his secondary school education in Olashore International School, in Osun State Nigeria. But this was after he attended St. Leo’s Catholic Primary Schoolin Ikeja to lay the right foundation in the academia. Today, Falz is a graduate of the University of Reading in the UK, even though he has chosen a career in entertainment as against following the footsteps of her parents who are both famous lawyers.
SHEYI SHAY: Although born in London, United Kingdom where she also grew up her entire life, Sheyi Shay had to relocate to Nigeria at some point, during which she studied at the Command High School in Maryland, Lagos. She then later returned to the UK where acquired her tertiary education; first studying Music at a local college before proceeding to bag a degree in Business Management at the University of East London.
YEMI ALADE: Yemi Alade is said to have attended St Saviour British Primary School before going to acquire a secondary school education at Victory Grammar School in Lagos. She later obtained a degree in Geography at the University of Lagos before finally focusing her attention on her music career.
WIZKID: For someone whose name is Wizkid, we sure expect the person to be brainy, right? Well it’s only fair to guess that our Wizkid was indeed brainy back in his school days. He is said to have attended Ijebu Ode Grammar School in Ogun State. A few years ago, two men who claimed to have been the singer’s former classmates claimed (in a wide-circulated interview) that the singer was expelled from his secondary school for stealing. While we may never know the actual truth behind this claim, what we do know is that he attended Lead City University in Ibadan although it is not very clear whether he did graduate.
TIWA SAVAGE: It is unclear (from my research) which secondary school Tiwa Savage attended before and after her family relocated to the United Kingdom. But what is indeed clear is that she acquired a secondary school education in London after which she proceeded to the University of Kent for a Degree in Business Administration. She even worked in a bank in the UK, but all along kept her mind focused on music. Consequently, she later went back to Berklee College of Music where she got a degree in Music prior to coming back to Nigeria to “blow”.
Of course, there are several thousand more celebrities in this country who acquired secondary school education and more. But for the sake time this is all I can handle for now. Are you surprised by any of the schools your favourite celebs attended? If yes, talk about it in the comment section. If no, still talk about it. Tell me about the schools other celebrities you know have attended in the past.
