Zamfara to integrate Quranic schools into basic education

Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), is set to integrate 282 Quranic schools into the Zamfara Basic Education Service Delivery for All (BESDA) programme with a view to ensuring that every child has access to free education in the state.

This was contained in a statement by the public relations officer of the board, Ibrahim Maizare.

According to the director of social mobilization, Yusuf Abubakar Mafara, part of the BESDA effort of integrating the Quranic schools into the western system is to cover areas of recruitment of new teachers, provision of free uniforms, free feeding and teaching aids.
He charged those undergoing the training to be proactive in changing the narratives so that the basic education system in the state can be transformed.

Earlier, the consultant of the BESDA programme, Ibrahim Sulaiman Gusau, emphasised the need for significant regular supervision of teachers as part of efforts to sustain the quality of teaching and learning in public schools across the state.
