6 Signs You are Sending the Wrong Signals

1. You Got A Little Too Clingy, A Little Too Fast

By calling too often, sending repeated follow-up text messages, and “liking” everything he posts online. You are probably coming on a little too strong. You don’t need to keep your entire life a mystery, but no guy wants to date a lady who’s unquestionably available to him. Give him a little space to do his own thing, while showing him that you have your own life as well.

2. You’re Not Trying Hard Enough

You may be giving off the wrong signals if you’re scared of appearing vulnerable, or playing the hard-to-get game a little too well. You don’t want to push for marriage ten minutes after meeting for the first time – but you also don’t want to act like you don’t care at all. If you always ignore his messages to appear busy when you’re not, flirt with other guys in front of him to make him jealous, or refuse to text first because you don’t want to overwhelm him — he might just assume that you’re not interested at all.

3. You Lied About What You Wanted

Maybe you told him that you were looking for something casual. Or maybe you expressed that you were cool with just hooking up because you thought it would eventually lead to something more? Whatever you might have said, lying about what you want won’t get you anywhere. No sensible male is going to reason: “Hmmn, she made it clear she wants to keep things simple — maybe I shouldn’t try for a relationship anyway!”

4. There’s Someone Else

There’s always the possibility that another girl is occupying his thoughts. But whether he’s seeing someone else, or just still emotionally committed to his ex-, you have to let him go. Waiting around for him to sort his feelings out could take awhile, and chances are, you won’t emerge unhurt from the process. Don’t bother chasing after a guy who won’t be prevented from chasing someone else.

5. He Only Wants To Hook Up

It’s also entirely possible that this guy only sees you as someone he likes to have fun with when he’s feeling frisky. That’s not to say he doesn’t like you as a person — he might just not see you as someone with whom he can settle down. Or perhaps he’s not ready for that kind of commitment yet. If he gives you plenty of attention without ever taking you out for proper dates or calling when it’s light out, you most likely have your answer.

6. He’s Not Interested

Unfortunately, the most painful scenario is also the most common: Sometimes, he’s just not that into you. He might not feel enough of a connection to pursue something serious, and in that case, there’s nothing you can do to change his mind. Move on!
