Preparing for and writing exams could be demanding but your overall performance could be improved upon by carrying out some activities.

1. Learn and write

Reading through the pages and highlighting important portions help a lot, but when you write down the important points you read in a piece of rough paper or your notebook, it helps you retain information even more. You can also easily pick them up during last hour revision without having to through the whole book again.

2. Allocate enough time to study

It is good for you to come up with a plan that would give you enough time to study before exam begin, doing that will allow you to cover up everything you need to read. When you fail to give yourself enough time to study, you tend to rush things and there’s a little to which the brain can take within short time. Just imagine eating a plate of food within split seconds, the body system would definitely reject it.

3. Practice on old exams

One of the most effective ways to prepare for exams is to practice with previous exams questions. Since the exams questions are always set based on the curriculum, it gives you an idea of how the questions would be structured. There are some questions that are repeated as well with just a little tweak, you would easily answer such questions if you come across them.

You should not give your brain too much work to do at a stretch, regular breaks are needed for it to regain its focus. It is not the best tactic to study long hours because long-term retention of knowledge is almost impossible. The most important part of studying is to develop a routine that fits your study style. 

7. Eat good food

Eating unhealthy food while you are studying is a harmful to your health. Keep your body and brain fit by choosing natural, fresh and vitamins rich food that is good for you and would improve your concentration and memory.
