It sounds like a joke a comedian would say just for laughs. But it really happened!
Allie Carter who lives in the American state of Indiana is the victim, and the offender is chocolate Labrador retriever named Trigger.
It all started when Allie laid her shotgun on the ground without putting the safety on during a hunting event, then along came Trigger bounding across the path, stepping on the shotgun, thus depressing the trigger.
Carter was shot in the left foot at point-blank range, suffering injuries to her foot and toes. She was treated at two hospitals, then released.
