After the big fight between Superman (Henry Cavill) and General Zod in Man of Steel, Metropolis has pretty much been flattened. Although some humans still practically worship him, Superman keeps getting blamed for everything that is wrong in the world.
First to put him down is nearby Gotham City’s billionaire playboy, Bruce Wayne aka Batman (Ben Affleck). He thinks Superman is more of a menace than a saviour, and also believes that Superman, with his immense power left unchecked is more of a threat to Mankind than a help.
Meet the Villain
Weird and rich young industrialist, Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) who is also the CEO of LexCorp would like to rule a world without Superman or Batman, so he plans to pit them against each other. He works behind the scenes to feed each man’s weaknesses and guide them toward the ultimate confrontation.
Despite Batman’s efforts to prevent him, Luthor is able to possess a huge Kryptonite chunk after he succeeded in convincing and getting the help of Senator June Finch (Holly Hunter), and thereafter using it to create a biological weapon capable of crushing Superman once and for all, a thing Senator Finch disagrees with.
Will he succeed in his quest? Will Batman aid him in doing so?
Enter Please, the Ladies
Superman and Daily Planet reporter, Lois Lane (Amy Adams) are still an item and share an intense love. Poor Lois becomes a pawn in Luthor’s game to control Superman. Will she be able to help her man survive, or be an instrument of his destruction? And who is that strikingly beautiful Diana Prince, known also as Wonder Woman (Gal Godot) at all Gotham social events?
She intrigues Bruce Wayne, aka Batman so much that he is curious enough to want to find out. But she keeps stealing the same things he is after, the data that he has stolen from LexCorp’s central computer system, which contains information of all Lex Luthor has been up to.
Will she show up later to help him, or hinder his anti-Superman efforts?
And….the Wrap
Too long and so packed with dark, ultra-fast-moving action that you don’t even have time to catch your breath!
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice boasts a complex, sometimes confusing story of love, hate, bitterness and vengeance. Since we know that Batman and Superman will be part of The Justice League in later films, the fact that their fight doesn’t keep going isn’t a spoiler.
It appears Wonder Woman appearance in this movie is just to introduce her for later Justice League films, not forgetting the fact that she looks a lot like Xena, Warrior Princess.
Amy Adams, playing Lois Lane has her emotional moments, but she leaves you wondering just how many times she will need rescuing! She’s a tough journalist, isn’t it? Can’t she just kick some of her own fannies more often?
Hope Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice gives you the action/thriller that you crave.
