Are you counting down the days to resumption? 13 days to go…10 days, 9, 8 and so on? Perhaps, it’s bittersweet for you – the fact that all those fun, lazy days are over and you will have to resume normal school routine, learn new material, and do homework (ugh!). But you also know that all these are offset with the reality of reconnecting with friends, swapping holiday stories, blushing when your crush looks your way, teasing your friends silly, and all those fun things that simply describe school!

1. Catching up with friends and swapping holiday stories – like that really cool girl (or boy) you met, or that fantastic holiday experience you had – you know, all the deets!
2. Showing off your new kicks – you know – the whole works! Fancy new bag, school shoes, fresh notebooks, snazzy haircut and hair styles and if you will be resuming senior class – your hippy short skirt (girls, *wink* *wink*) and slim-fit trousers (any guy in the house?)
3. The fact that there won’t be any serious academic work the first day or two, and if you were born under a lucky star, the whole week! More gist please!
4. Knowing that if you and your clique can pull off the plan you have been hatching successfully, your tight circle will all be seating together in just the right space in class – your own special corner.
5. Checking out who’s wearing the latest in fashion and who isn’t. Like whose uniform has been amended to perfection, whose school shoes are simply to die for, whose school bag will win “Bag of the Year award”, and whose hairstyle or haircut is simply on fleek.
