In another few weeks, schools will reopen for a new session. With school resumption comes the need to purchase needed supplies; so, what can you do to ensure you get all the things you need at the best prices? These tips will come in handy if you take care to follow it.
1. Purchase loss leader items before the beginning of the school year to get the best price. Loss Leader items is a retail term for items that are sold at an extremely low price in order to get buyers into the store. The stores hope that once you are there, you will buy the rest of the items you need or want at the store, and it is on these items that the stores hope to make the best profit. But you don’t have to buy anything other than the loss leaders if that’s all you need.
2. Back-To-School loss leaders typically include packs of notebooks, composition books, and packs of pencils or pens. The weeks just before school resumes is often a great time to buy these items.
3. Backpacks usually have the best sales price well after the school year begins. These are items that are not used for loss leaders, yet stores know families need to purchase. Once the school year begins, stores need to empty their shelves of these seasonal items to make way other goods.
4. Backpacks for example are every day items and take a lot of wear and tear. If these items give out part way through the school year, they will need to be replaced. Hence, you need to buy them when their prices drop down during the off-season period for school supplies, and it makes sense to go for a quality item because items such as this take so much abuse. Though, you may not continue using the same backpack for several school years, at least you would be confident that the quality is good enough to last the entire school year and pass it off to younger siblings.
5. It’s a new session, and students transitioning from junior to senior class will have to reflect that in their uniforms, others might have grown out of their old uniforms, and still more may need to change worn uniforms. So, what should be done? Rather than purchase all the items you need for school at a go – like school uniforms and school shoes – buy only the items that are needed right away; and when the price of these items relaxes a bit, you can get the rest of the other stuff you need.
There are many places you can shop and search for back-to-school deals. The thing is, if you do all of your back-to-school shopping at once, you will miss out on the best prices. Different items go on sale at different times, so shopping at multiple stores over a few days will save you money, but not as much if you follow the timing tips listed above.
