A teen website seventeen.com reported how Elite Daily (an American online news platform) carried out a social experiment which may not have been a really brilliant idea. Why? They had dads read their daughters’ text messages on camera and somehow succeeded in getting actual girls – gasps – to agree to do it. (There had to be some bribery involved, right?)
Obviously, the results were disastrous.
From a text as innocent as “I had fun last night,” being totally blown out of proportion by one dad, to one daughter’s overuse of the eggplant emoji being put on the hot seat (once dad figured out what it meant, of course!), things just got majorly awkward.
Then the tables were turned and the daughters got to read their dads’ texts. This time, one daughter learned the hard way that her parents’ private text messages aren’t all rainbows and sunshine either (major vomit inducing stuff!).
Overall, let’s just say if these dads liked their daughters’ significant others before this little experiment, they certainly don’t anymore.
