- After exercise, people learn new vocabulary 20% faster
- It improves short-term memory, reaction time and creativity
- It increases attention span, coordination and complex thinking
- 30% extra blood flow, oxygen and glucose to the brain improves learning ability
Not only exercise can boost brain power though, cutting down on DVDs and television and replacing them with activity toys such as hula hoops, hopscotch and bike rides will also do much help.
Putting on some great music (classical music is known to fire the neural pathways for long-term memory), and enjoying family dancing in the living room as a fun way to exercise. Going on regular family outings, and walking can also boost brain power with no cost attached.

Finding your learning style can also contribute immensely to how much knowledge you are able to retain. Consider the three board categories below:
Auditory Learner
When learning anew, read aloud for best comprehension. Use audio devices for learning, such as CDs and podcasts. Debate and discuss subjects for better and improved retention.
Visual Learner
Have a pen and some paper handy during study. Try to get visual explanations rather than oral ones. Use video and images as learning resources.
Kinaesthetic or Tactile Learner
You express yourself better with body language, or touch while learning, and will remember events by recalling who did what rather than who said what.
