Teenagers generally are affected negatively by mobile technologies especially mobile phones and below are the usual harms that trail the use of phones by teens.

Stress:

When teens spend so much time on their phones, they do not have a choice but to be stressed. Stress can be devastating especially because it is the resultant effect of psychological disorder. Kids that spend too much time on mobile suffer from this issue.

Accidents:

Several people especially teens have lost their lives to train accident, car accidents, and even domestic accidents when they excessively concentrate on their phones without paying attention to a moving train, vehicles in their direction, hence they get predisposed to deadly accidents that can claim their lives.

Teen Tendonitis (TTT):

Teens are predisposed to a challenge as a result of their addiction to texting. When teens get to message excessively, it results into Teen Tendonitis (TTT). The harmful symptoms include pain in the hands, back and neck due to poor posture. It can also lead to impaired vision and even arthritis down the line.

Risk of Cancer:

There is no doubt about the fact that research shows that electromagnetic radiation emitted by mobile phones get absorbed in the tissues when we hold the phone for longer times. The nervous systems of teens are still developing and have a greater risk of developing brain cancer from cell phones than adults.

Sleep Loss:

Teens can lost their sleep playing interesting games on phones, making long calls, doing text chats or engaging with any social media platform. Their sleeps get interrupted and if they do not get sufficient sleep, they act irritably. That’s the consequence of sleep loss.

Cyber Bullying:

According to a poll conducted by Fight Crime Invest in Kids, nearly one-third of the teens are victims of cyber bullying. And almost half of the victims do not know the identity of the perpetrators.

Increases Anxiety:

Someone said, relying on texting as a primary mode of communication can increase anxiety in teens. Texting is instantly gratifying, but it also produces anxiety. The instant reply by the friend can bring joy and elation. But in case of delayed response or no response, this same pleasure turns into disappointment.
